MY STORY...

I was one of the original parents who helped Valerie Weeks start "ECAP Academy", a school for gifted and
high ability students, because I bought into her "vision".

I painted walls, cleaned floors, bought school supplies, created brochures, designed T-shirts and
advertisements, and built and financed a website to keep the small group of "original parents" abreast of the
constantly changing schedules and serve as a means to keep connected with one another.

After the ball started rolling, it quickly became apparent that Val had refocused her "vision" on simply making
a name for herself and making as much money as she could.  She began alienating and "dismissing"
(kicking out) the parents who had put their blood, sweat, and tears into making this school a success for the
sake of their children.  And, soon enough it was my turn.

One morning Val became irate, accosted me in the hallway, and gave me a tongue lashing for daring to
casually speak to another parent at the school.  Apparently she feared we were discussing the horrible way
in which she was treating the children and their parents on her quest to cash in and use whomever for
whatever they were willing to give her.  Needless to say, I left that morning in a huff (to say the least).  Against
my better judgment, I left my son in her care and went to work.

Two short hours later, I received a phone call at work from Val, telling me that my son and I were no longer
welcome to attend ECAP Academy and that I needed to come pick him up immediately.

So, I left work as soon as I could and arrived to find my five year old son, alone in the upstairs hallway, crying
his eyes out because Val had refused to allow him to eat his lunch.  She had, in fact, made him sit alone in
the classroom and watch the other children while they ate and played.

Again, I was none too happy with Ms. Weeks.  I handed over the money I had collected from a school
fundraiser that I had been put in charge of and I took with me everything I had purchased and allowed her to
borrow.  She handed me a packet of his school supplies and promised to mail me my son's test scores, the
photos he took as part of a school project, his school picture, one of his books, and my refund for the fee I
paid to secure his spot for the next school year.  In turn, I shared with her, just a small piece of my mind and
left that place for good.

I immediately found out that the parent I was speaking to that morning and his daughter were also
"dismissed" in the same disgraceful manner.

In my absence, from ECAP Academy, Val told the remaining parents a slew of lies about me and attempted
to impugn my moral character.  She had another parent attempt to hijack as much of my website as
possible before I placed the site on "lock-down".

Then...the woman had the nerve to sue me!

She asked the court for outlandish amounts of money, for property that had never belonged to her, and for
my website.

At the hearing, Val was caught in numerous lies, to the point that she made a joke of herself.  She paraded
"witnesses" in to lie and actually sink to calling me a bad person for "over-doing" my contributions to the
school by financing the school's Easter party.

Well, to make a long story shorter, I received a judgement for the counterclaim I made.

However, instead of his test scores, I received a shameful excuse for a letter (click here to see the actual
letter) which referred to my son as a "her" and referenced his "test sores" several times.  I received a couple
of my son's pictures that he took for his school project.  I received my son's book which I had let her borrow.
And, finally I received a check for the prorated tuition I was owed and the fee I paid to secure his spot for the
following year.

But here's the kicker...

She put a stop-payment on the check.  I had her bank served with the appropriate paperwork from the court
and was then informed by her bank that her account had been closed with a negative balance so my check
could not be honored.

I have yet to receive my son's test scores, his class picture which I purchased, or any portion of the monetary
judgment that I was awarded.

SO BEWARE!  This woman is in a class all her own.
